Mobile Storage

Mobile shelving systems have proven to be the most efficient system for filing and use of storage space available. Maximizing this efficiency requires know-how to create the all-important balance between capacity and accessibility. TAB provides the largest array of mobile systems in the market today, and our staff has years of expertise in making those systems work.

TAB mobile systems offer a complete spectrum of design possibilities. Control panels are aesthetically pleasing and flush mounted to the end panels. End panels are available in painted steel, fabric or laminated with self-edged or radius treatments. Color and texture choices are unlimited to create visual harmony within any environment.

TAB provides several primary and secondary safety features with every mobile system. Primary safety devices include the safety sweep and safety floor.

Multiple rows of shelving of great length and weight may be moved with the touch of a button with TAB’s POWER-TRAC electrical mobile system. POWER-TRAC is ideal for large storage systems associated with high access and retrieval and heavy materials. Each row of shelving, or carriages, can be up to 80 feet long and store up to 80,000 pounds of material. POWER-TRAC incorporates systems that insure the safety of personnel and stored materials.

POWER-TRAC’s intuitive control panel is simple to use. One touch to either of the directional buttons provides instant access to system contents.

Uniform movement protects your stored materials by eliminating “bumping” of carriages and providing a smooth flow with less power demand. The system delivers smooth start and stop movement, gradual acceleration and speed adjustment to protect your files.

Safe, Flexible and Secure

Primary safety is built into the system with the safety sweeps. Dual access controls are available for systems requiring access from either end of the carriages. These controls duplicate the operation and indication functions of the main operating end controls.

POWER-TRAC's battery back-up system is available and allows carriages to be moved individually in the event of a power failure.

tabtrac.jpg (10098 bytes)TAB-TRAC is a high-density mobile storage system that uses carriages on tracks to create aisles only where and when they are needed. Because TAB-TRAC mobile systems eliminate the need for fixed aisles, they yield up to 100% greater storage capacity.

TAB-TRAC systems are custom-made for each application. Skilled TAB professionals assess requirements and translate them into a plan of action that best uses all available design options. Among the available TAB-TRAC systems are the following:

Manual Systems

The least expensive means of relocating file ranges to create aisle access, movement in manual systems is provided by pulling on a simple handle. This method is best suited to small, lightweight applications.

Mechanical Assist Systems

Allowing larger ranges of stored materials to be economically and easily moved, movement in mechanical assist systems is accomplished by turning a handle. Gear ratios provide proper balance between weight-moving ability and speed of movement.

sidetrac.jpg (10440 bytes)This high-density storage concept makes TAB cabinets even more space efficient. Cabinets are arranged in two compact rows. The front cabinets glide from side to side on wheels, creating access to the cabinets in back. Rails and carriages install right on the existing floor (no expensive deck needed) with leveling capabilities not found in look-alikes. Because it is easy to install, it's simple to relocate, time after time. When you need to be more efficient with storage, come to TAB for solutions.
